This workshop covers Argentinian popular pieces written for mixed/ equal voice choirs, given by the composer/arranger, with an emphasis on interpretation.
An optional concert is proposed as the final activity, open to the public, where the workshop participants sing the selected pieces conducted by the composer.

This seminar introduces the participants to the diversity of rhythms in Argentinian popular music, in a choral format, analysing a group of pieces taken as case studies both in their compositional and interpretative aspects.
Organized by Federació Catalana d’Entitats Corals, the Fòrum de Direcció Coral will meet Choir conductors from all the Catalonian territory at the Seminari Salesià Martí Codolar, Barcelona.

Concert Sant Esteve – Palau de la Música Catalana
December 26, 7:00 PM, (Central Europe Time) Premiere of “Schedryck”, by Bernardo Latini, on Ukrainian folk tune, for Mixed Choir. Piece commissioned by “Orfeò Català del Palau de la Música Catalana” (Barcelona, Catalonia) and dedicated to their conductors, Mº Pablo Larraz & Mª Montse Meneses.
The piece will be premiered during the Sant Esteve Concert, which has been held every December 26 for over a hundred years, at The Concert Auditorium of Palau de la Música Catalana.
The incredible concert, with the Orfeó Català, Cor de Cambra del Palau and the Choirs of the Choral School, will be broadcast through the Palau de la Música Catalana website and TV3 Television.

The pieces, composed specifically for this publication, form a cycle of works sequenced from the simplest forms of performance and execution, while also telling a story — a thematic, aesthetic, and technical journey.
The publication includes a map with a traced route: a pedagogical sequence from unison to part‑singing. Additionally, sections are included to guide the choir director in managing the different situations typical of children’s choral activities.

The Consejo Argentino de la Música, CAMU, granted me the FIRST PRIZE in Composition for my piece “Ritual” for mixed choir and percussion. This distinction is awarded within the framework of “Tribuna de la Música Argentina 2020”.
Additionally, within the same contest, the piece allowed Maestro Virginia Bono to obtain the FIRST PRIZE (Categoría INTERPRETACIÓN) for their performance conducting Estudio Coral Meridies.

“Los abrazos” (The Hugs) is a project that allowed me to get the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Argentina) Creation Grant 2021. The project involves the composition of a musical piece for choir and piano, in three movements. The piece is about the resilient nature of society in face of various adversity circumstances.
In a few months, I hope to be sharing with you some news about this project that makes me feel so proud.
